Let Nick help you buy a bespoke piece of art for your home in brand new BBC TV show

We all love those painted hand prints the little darlings bring home from school, but do you long to adorn your home with a personalised piece of art?

Mums and dads in Liverpool are invited to take part in a brand new series for BBC One – Home Is Where The Art Is – where members of the public get the opportunity to buy bespoke artwork for their home.

Presented by Nick Knowles (DIY SOS), the show gives artists the chance to compete to win a special new commission for paying buyers for their home.

In each show, three artists, whose skills could range from painting, metal work and embroidery to woodcarving and ceramics, will get to look around a mystery buyers’ home for inspiration before pitching their ideas and creating something unique for the buyers – but which one will they go for?

Rather than spending money on ‘off the shelf’ pieces from the high street, this series will show how easy it is to commission local artists.

So if you have between £100 and £1,000 to spend and would like to be guided in the process of commissioning art for your home, let the lovely Nick Knowles introduce you to some of the UK’s finest artists from painters to potters, carvers to crafters, screen printers to street artists.

If you fancy applying to go on the show, email artshow@bbc.co.uk or call 0161 836 0311.
