Perfect entertainment for your man-cubs, The Jungle Book swings into town this Christmas!
Don’t miss Action Transport and the Unity Theatre’s brand-new Christmas show which opened last weekend and runs until January 6, 2018.
Jungle fun takes centre stage at the Unity Theatre on Hope Place, in the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter and is a fabulous festive treat for children aged five plus and their families.
This world premiere continues Unity Theatre’s successful partnership with the Ellesmere Port youth theatre company Action Transport and the show promises to offer all the fun and laughter you’ve come to expect from the collaboration with music, dance and song for your little monkeys to enjoy.
The Jungle Book is a bold and highly theatrical production, loosely based on the well-known Rudyard Kipling story.
Director Nina Hajiyianni discusses the themes of belonging, family and mankind’s effect on the environment. With a brilliant all new score by composer Angus McLeod, The Jungle Book is full of brand new songs and fantastical jungle sounds – with children encouraged to Bring their favourite animal noise with them too.
The Jungle Book boasts an international acting company, all of whom have links with Liverpool, including local actor Joe Shipman (Narvik/Liverpool Playhouse), award-winning singer, musician and actor, originally from Northern Ireland Fionnuala Dorrity (Liverpool Everyman), American performer and educator Asif Majid and finally Spanish Sam Perez Duran, a recent graduate of the award-winning training programme by Hope Street Limited.
Tickets are priced £9-£14.50 (family of four £32-£50) and can be booked via Unity Theatre’s Book Office by calling 0151 709 4988 or via www.unitytheatre.co.uk
After the New Year, the production moves to Ellesmere Port’s Whitby Hall from Thursday, January 11 to Saturday, January 14.
